Here We Go Again!!

Holy moly....guacamole, as my students would respond. :) It's been a LONG time since I've really posted. My life has been an absolute crazy mess. My two year American Bulldog, Bentley, tore his ACL and meniscus and had to have emergency surgery. My fiance and I have been sleeping in the floor with him every night. We are now six weeks in, and we have four more to go!

On another sad note, we've been trying to buy a house since October that is a foreclosure through Wells Fargo. I am so tired of Wells Fargo and never want to see their bank again. We still have not closed, they terminated our contract, and now tell us they have no idea when the deed for the house will be ready. So we have put a contract on another house which is a short sale....let's pray this goes through.

But, thank you to everyone who prayed for my job situation. I am SO happy to have a job next year, AT MY SAME SCHOOL!!!! I will be teaching THIRD GRADE and couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to explore and find some new third grade blogging friends.

Now for the good stuff and the end of my rambling....here are some of the things we were up to before school was out!

We've started our plants unit and planted a lima bean and grass. Here's one of our cute grass heads just beginning to grow hair. I forgot to take an after picture!! The grass was SO TALL! All of the kids were just fascinated.

I'm at a conference right now for my district and went to this interesting training this morning on "Uncovering Student Ideas in Science Using Writing." It was presented by Page Keeley, past NSTA President. Click HERE to go read all about her probes and using the C-E-R Framework for science. I think it will align PERFECTLY with Common Core.

I'm getting married in 9 DAYS, then we're headed to Belize. See y'all when I get back and hopefully get inspired to create some fun school stuff after my relaxing honeymoon. I'll be sure to post some wedding pictures when we get back. :) Hope everyone is having a great summer!

P.S. Don't you LOVE my new blog design. Misty and Erika from Honey Bunch Blog Designs have been AMAZING throughout this whole process. Please go visit them and show them some love, especially if you need a new blog design!
