GIVEAWAY......with some Bloglovin!!!

Hey y'all! So, I'm not having a giveaway, but I am participating in one! Everyone needs to go over and visit Kelly at Koonce's Korner for her 100 follower giveaway! She has a ton of great products and gift cards that are going to be given away!

I've donated my Monkey Money: Classroom Economy Pack to be given to the lucky winner! This system truly motivated my students this year to do their best to earn their money! I had a rule that students were only allowed to purchase items before the bell rang in the morning so no instructional time was wasted. I paid students before the bell as well, but next year I think I might pay out on Friday afternoons! Maybe if you win, you can tell me how it works for you!! :)

You need to go check out the giveaway! There are so many amazing bloggers giving away amazing prizes and gift cards. It truly is great to be part of such a wonderful bloggy family! :)

I've also decided to jump on the Bloglovin bandwagon! I'd love for you to Follow my blog with Bloglovin!

Organization Linky Party

Hello again! I hope everyone had a magnificent July 4th. Here in Georgia, it has rained since Wednesday....literally. I think Friday we had ten glorious minutes of sun, so the hubby and I ran down to the pool before the monsoon started again! According to the weather forecast, there is no sun in sight! UGH!!

I'm joining up with Elizabeth over at Fun in Room 4B to show some ways that I organize in my classroom. This year we had an extra day of post-planning that was supposed to be a furlough day. I guess the county was feeling generous and gave it back to us! :)

I'm OBSESSED with organization in my classroom. It drives me crazy to have stacks of papers on my desk (probably because I use the small group table for my desk....I just don't have enough room). So I've made lots and lots of labels to try my best to stay organized!

I bought all of these clear bins from the container store. They are WONDERFUL!! They are much better quality than their Dollar Tree counterparts! I have pretty much everything I need right behind my desk on this shelf. I typically keep glue sticks, crayons, and scissors down towards the bottom so my "supply helper" can grab them out for a student in need with my permission. It keeps me from having to stop what I'm doing to go dig out supplies for a student who lost his/hers or ran out! **You can grab these labels HERE!! :)
I have lots of these pink bins I got from Walmart to hold seasonal materials and some units. I made these lovely chevron labels below! As you can see, I'm still in the process of labeling (we got kicked out for the summer before I could finish).
I absolutely LOVE this rolling cart! I didn't have it labeled last year and always forgot which drawer was for what and where things were. So, I made some MORE labels to help make my life a little easier! :)
Don't forget to download the free labels in the post above! Go join up the linky party if you have some good organization ideas! :)

July Currently and FLIPPED

So, it's been awhile since I've posted. I feel like every time I start a post that's how it begins! ha!

I started grad school last August, so that's why my posting has been sparse. I'll finish in December, and I hope to have a lot more free time on my hands to blog and create. Two things I truly enjoy! I figured since it's summer, and I have a little extra time on my hands, I'd catch up on some things I'm up to these days.

Of course I had to participate in Oh' Boy Fourth Grade's Currently Linky Party. Go visit her blog to see all of the other amazing blogs that have linked up with her.
Every time I join a linky party, I'm amazed by the new outstanding bloggers I find. I started this journey because I used to follow so many teacher bloggers when I was in college, and I hoped to inspire anyone becoming a teacher. (Hopefully I'll start to become more inspirational once I have more time to blog). :)

On another note, I've been doing a TON of research this summer on the flipped classroom model. I've gone to professional learning on the topic, done research for it, and created a workshop. I'm amazed by this concept and the success it seems to be having! Haven't heard of flipping your classroom?

Go HERE to see a brochure I made for grad school. I hope to be blogging a lot more about this new classroom model, and I'd love to hear any of your stories if you've already flipped your classroom!

Third Grade Common Core Workbook

Hello all!

I know it has been a LONG, LONG time since I've posted. I've truly missed my blog land friends and seeing all the great ideas. Since I last posted, I started my masters and bought a house. I've been a busy, busy girl. The Common Core is also consuming my life as I try to create all new resources to help my students.

I was SOO pumped when I came across this Third Grade Common Core Workbook. I can't wait to use it to make my life so much easier. It is full of activities, worksheets, centers, posters, etc. that are going to save me an incredible amount of time.
**I'll be back soon for a freebie about penguins! :)**

Classroom Tour

Can you believe it's been 10 DAYS since I've posted? I can considering pre-planning started on Monday and I spent at least 10 hours a day in my classroom unpacking boxes, getting things ready, laminating, copying, decorating bulletin boards....you name it, I probably did it! I guess that's the joy of moving grades and classrooms! :)

Here for you now, I have some before and after pictures of my classroom. I updated a few things when I went in yesterday, so I'll have to add those later!

BEFORE! AHHHH!!!

Classroom Tour:

Front Door

Front of room during Sneak-A-Peek! Love those Jungle Cursive Letters from TpT! :)

CAFE letters I made to go along with mini-lessons.

Bulletin boards that still need some pizazz! :)

My Desk

Part of my desk area. ( I HAVE TO FINISH LABELING THOSE BINS) :)

You can NEVER have too many bins to organize. :)

Daily 5 Choice Board. I have velcro with student names where they will place their name next to their choice.

Library area (I HAVE GOT TO ORGANIZE THOSE BOOKS)

Well, there we go. I've still got some more work to do and I have to spruce up my bulletin boards! :) I think it's looking pretty good so far. I can't believe I go back to school TOMORROW!!! I'm very excited about part of my new classroom economy system.....Monkey Money!!! This will go along with my clip chart behavior system! :) Click HERE to go see it!

I start school tomorrow, start my graduate program next Monday, and I still somehow can't stop making things for my room! Hopefully I'll be better about posting. For all of you going back to school tomorrow....HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!

It's getting down to crunch time for me. We go back to school on Monday and we have Sneak-A-Peek with the kids on Thursday. I haven't been able to get in my room AT ALL. But, I keep telling myself that I didn't get in my room until the Saturday before the kids arrived on Monday morning last year, and I survived.....barely. :)

Back to School Prep

I've been workin' hard getting things in order to head back to school next week. I don't even start pre-planning until Monday! Since I got married this summer, I've loved having the extra time after the wedding to get my life in order!

First, I made a transportation management system that I've been seeing all over blogs and pinterest! If this was originally your idea, let me know so I can give you credit! You can find these FREEBIE transportation circles HERE at my TpT store. I'm going to have the students clip their clothespin on there to show how they're going home. I had students last year who went home a different way everyday. Sometimes the office would buzz me and ask how they went home......umm....that's not a good feeling!!!

Next, I made a matching "Jungle Jobs" chart to go with my jungle jobs cards. You can find those HERE! These also match my behavior chart which can also be found on TpT!

Then, I went ahead and got my student binders together. I use a SAFARI binder, which stands for "Students and Families Are Ready & Informed." Here is what the cover looks like: (I will put their name on the black line)

On the inside of this binder I put stickers for Take Home and Bring Back. Students put papers that need to go home to parents in the "Take Home" side. Anything that comes back to me goes in the "Bring Back" pocket.
I also have a pouch inside for their homework packet. I used regular page protectors last year, and since I use a homework packet they keep for the whole week, the page protectors just wouldn't cut it. I found these cool pockets at Office Max and they were buy 3 get 1 free! :) I think they are going to hold up really well! Here's what the cover looks like:

Finally, don't forget that my 100 Follower Giveaway ends tonight at midnight!! Thanks to all of you who have entered. Click HERE to go enter! I will announce the winner TOMORROW! :) Good luck to everyone, and I can't wait to see who wins!
